In Chicago for a Predictable Success™ 9 Key Transitions In-House Workshop.
My youngest daughter, Hannah is travelling with me, and it’s her first opportunity to see her Dad at work. Amazingly for a soon-to-be 19-year-old, she finds the material interesting enough to sit through a day-and-a-half of watching and listening to her Dad facilitating 15 Predictable Success® Leaders grapple with the 9 transitions.
When the workshop has ended, we spent some time on the flight home talking about what she made of it all. Her most striking comment:
I spent most of the time thinking about how [the 9 Key Transitions] apply to my everyday life. I noticed that I am very good at the ‘investigation’ stage, but not so hot on ‘interpretation’ and ‘implementation’. Gave me a lot to think about.”
As we slid homeward on a wet Logan Airport runway, I considered the relevance of Predictable Success® to a teenager’s life: college, friends, parties, sports, music…
Teenage life is the epitome of the ‘Fun’ stage of Predictable Success™. Then comes the ‘Whitewater’ of early adulthood, as we try to work out who we are and what matters to us…a few are fortunate to reach the ‘Predictable Success®’ stage shortly thereafter.
For most of us, it’s a lifelong journey.
