Key Step 1: Organization Structure

Usually, it’s during Whitewater that management first begins to produce anything resembling an organization structure – during the Early Struggle and Fun stages, there has usually been no need for such a document – the organization structure could be portrayed on a postage stamp.

Equally often, these first attempts produce organization structures that are inappropriate for delivering Predictable Success®.

Sometimes, the organization structure is written and re-written during Whitewater in an attempt to find a place for employees that seem to be ‘good people’, but who, for one reason or another aren’t really ‘cutting it’ in their existing roles.

Just as with Management Roles, simply reworking what got the organization to Whitewater will not produce Predictable Success® - to get to Predictable Success®, an entirely new type of organizational structure is required, one which reflects the revised management roles, and the impact of the other Key factors detailed below.

This usually become clear once the other Key Factors have been implemented.
